Students Use Social Networks to Research School Options
About a quarter of prospective students under the age of 20 report discussing their higher education options with friends on Facebook, and 63 percent indicate that they are somewhat to very likely to use Facebook to discuss their options. Similarly, 60 percent of prospective students 20-29 indicate that they are somewhat to very likely to use Facebook to discuss options with friends.
Prospective students are also somewhat to very likely to consider using Facebook to discuss an institution with current students (64 percent), look up information on an institution (57 percent) and add a current student representative as a friend (57 percent).
