Delivery Problems
Once you have subscribed to Academica's Top Ten, you should receive an issue in your e-mail every weekday morning, except statutory holidays and during our annual Christmas vacation. Unless you explicitly unsubscribe from the Top Ten, you should receive all issues automatically.
For efficiency managing thousands of subscribers, Academica Group uses an external provider, iContact.com, to manage our mailing list and mass emails automatically. The iContact system tracks "bounce-backs" from overflowing mailboxes, vacation messages, and communication failures, but we do not attempt to re-send in those circumstances.
If you are missing issues
If you suspect you are not receiving issues of Academica's Top Ten, please follow these trouble-shooting instructions:
- Confirm you are still subscribed by contacting us at today@academica.ca.
- Add today@academica.ca to your e-mail address book, and whitelist the following domains in your e-mail: academica.ca, academicagroup.ca, academicagroup.com, icontact.com, and icpbounce.com.
- Contact your institution's IT department and ask them to whitelist the aforementioned domains. (Most often, when the Top Ten is not getting through, it is a spam filter issue.)
- If none of those steps resolve the issue, then please e-mail us at today@academica.ca and let us know. We will work with your IT department and the iContact technical support team to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Meantime, if for any reason you fail to receive your Top Ten by e-mail, all issues are available through our website here (today's issue) and here (back issues)
Note: If you forward your own copy of Academica's Top Ten to others, use the "Send to a Friend" button at the bottom of each issue. If you forward the entire e-mail, including the "manage your subscription" link, it is possible that the recipient of your e-mail could inadvertently change your subscription options.
If you are trying to re-subscribe
If you unsubscribed temporarily (such as for a vacation stop), you cannot re-subscribe through the form on our website, as you are already listed a subscriber in iContact, irrespective of your subscription status. To re-subscribe, you must do so by clicking on the "manage your subscription" link found at the bottom of every Top Ten issue. If you no longer have past copies of the Top Ten in your inbox, contact us at today@academica.ca for assistance.
